Description

The low maintenance benefits and an aesthetic sympathetic to its location led to the specification of Eternit’s corrosion-resistant profiled sheeting as an external cladding solution for an award-winning development by designers, Soup Architects, called The Studios. The project has been built within a mature landscaped garden on an existing residential plot at Aldeburgh in Suffolk.Soup Architects met its client’s brief to create two separate 40 and 60sq/m multi-functional studio spaces to replace existing dilapidated workshop and garage buildings situated away from the main house. The owner’s intention is to use the two studio spaces as retreat locations, setting them within a tranquil, contemplative part of the garden. As such, the low maintenance benefits of fibre cement profiled sheeting, together with its attractive appearance, were key components in the design-led decision to clad the studios’ exteriors with the Eternit solution.
